Decided to leave Karamea for the Lewis Pass. The drive along the Buller Gorge was quite spectacular thereafter comparatively mediocre until you Reefton and enter the Victoria Conservation Park where it's mountain range after mountain range. Unfortunately it was raining and the cloud base was rather low to get good photos. Things really perked up just after the summit of the Lewis Pass however (which was shrouded in cloud) as you drop down to the Hope River Valley. Then an awesome drive on to Hanmer Springs.
