Drove most of the day. Only 300k but that's NZ roads and I wasn't in a hurry. Really nice drive in parts. Stopped off at Lake Brunner for a look/see, then over to Greymouth and up the ocean road to Westport, and then on to Karamea. The official finish of the Heaphy Track is 15k or so north of here but other than those passing through to go back to the start of the track there appear to be very few visitors. If the weather is good to me I'll do the first 15k and back of the Heaphy Track tomorrow, which is supposed to be the most beautiful part. Fingers crossed! Accommodation interesting!
